Use the timeline to move through your recording and adjust clip length.
Move around the timeline
At the bottom of the editor, you will see a blue timeline bar. It shows the full length of the clip and the current playback speed.
To zoom in or out, use the zoom slider next to the magnification icons.
To move through the timeline:
- Swipe on your trackpad while your cursor is over the timeline
- Use your mouse wheel
- Drag the scrollbar
Split a clip
Use the scissors tool to split a clip into parts.
You can enable it in either way:
- Click the scissors icon
- Press
Ctrl + S
Then click the timeline where you want to split the clip.
Remove a section
After you split a clip, select the section you want to remove.
Then:
- Press
Delete, or
- Use the remove action in the right-side panel
Move the cursor to the exact point where you want to split, then press Ctrl + S.
Trim without splitting
To shorten or extend the beginning or end of a clip:
- Click and hold the edge of the clip.
- Drag left or right.
Each trim appears on the timeline as a small scissors marker. Click that marker to undo the trim.
